On the Occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Krastal Sculpture Symposium
A collaborative project by Kunstwerk Krastal, Welt&Co, Verein Erinnern Villach, the Centre for Peace Research and Peace Education, and Dialogforum Zusammenleben.
Dialogforum Zusammenleben is a network of initiatives, activists, researchers, and committed individuals working primarily in Carinthia. Together with interested participants, the forum seeks to explore how current events can be addressed in a productive and constructive way. Rather than focusing solely on the threatening scenarios increasingly portrayed by politics and the media, the project also explores alternative ways of living together in Carinthia, Austria, Europe, and the wider world.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Krastal Sculpture Symposium, founded in 1967 by the association Begegnung in Kärnten (“Encounter in Carinthia”), the event AGAINST – FOR – WITH seeks to contribute to creating a positive climate for responsible coexistence through interdisciplinary activities including lectures, readings, discussions, and an exhibition featuring both local and international participants.
At the centre of the project is the question of how a “Good Life” can be ensured for everyone—and what such a life actually means.

As part of the event, the following artists will present works on the theme at the Sculpture House:
Max Gangl (A) | Sibylle von Halem (D) | Rezi Kolter (A) | Priska Luetgenauer (CH) | Tijen Erol (CYP) | Helmut Machhammer (A) | Peter Schurz (A)
Concept / Idea
Alfred Woschitz of [kunstwerk] Krastal and Welt&Co Kulturverein, in cooperation with Dialogforum Zusammenleben in Kärnten and the Centre for Peace Research and Peace Education.
